A week after the Jawan release, director Atlee Kumar and star Shah Rukh Khan held a press conference in Mumbai. Among many others, American rapper Raja Kumari also attended the event. She not only gave a terrific live performance but also revealed that Swades inspired her to move to India while talking about the Jawan anthem.

She said, “My reaction when he (Shah Rukh Khan) first heard it was that this is something that I always wanted to do. When I grew up in Los Angeles, California, so far from India, I actually watched Swades and it really inspired me to move to India. And I’m here today living in India. Really proud to be here and this is like a manifestation moment.”
She continued, “But to be able to say these lyrics like – ‘running with King Khan bullets rain down like it’s thunder. Ready or not, she got the Glock. She’ll put you wonder, you know, it’s game time on the front line till the game is over It’s deep in the trenches for you like a soldier.’”
Later, she added, “And I wrote it (Jawan anthem) for you guys (fans). For us, the fans, we needed an anthem to enjoy our love for SRK because I’m like, All my friends know that I say SRK and RK forever. And that has been, you know, something I’ve always said so I made this for you guys so you could really enjoy this movie and enjoy your love together.”
Besides Raja Kumari, the rest of the cast members including Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Ridhi Dogra, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover, among others, also graced the event.
